Clean Windows 7 installation on ASUS Laptop for beginners

Описание к видео Clean Windows 7 installation on ASUS Laptop for beginners

This video is for reference only.
The laptop model I'm using is a ASUS X501U-XX049V.
Initial steps may vary if another model or series.

1) Enter your laptop BIOS by pressing F2 (press Del, Esc, F2, F10, or F9 (depending on your laptop manufacturers)

2) Make sure your laptop is using AHCI (Advance Host Controller Interface) as IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) doesn't offer features to SATA drives.

3) Select the DVD/flash drive as the first boot device of your laptop.

4) Save changes and exit from BIOS

5) Once restarted your computer will start windows 7 setup from DVD/flash drive. If not, make sure the installation disk or flash drive are inserted. In some cases, you can access a boot menu by pressing a specific key to call it. Example: ESC, F1, F8, F9, or F12.

6) Choose Language, Time, currency, and Keyboard layout and click Next, Install now, choose the right version of your windows 7 (my case is Home Premium) and accept the license terms.

7) This part is crucial as you need to select between Upgrade and Custom. As it is a clean installation you'll select Custom and on the next screen decide which hard drive and partition you want to install windows on. I recommend installing on disk 0 as on this video I'm using an external hard drive enclosure (disk 1) to boot up the windows installation.

8) Click Drive options to show more options and delete all partition from disk 0 by selecting it and then click delete until you have full Unallocated Space.

9) Select Disk 0 Unallocated Space and click next and windows will begin installing.

10) Once finished you will be prompted to type a user name, computer name, set up a password, choose automatic updates, and time/date settings.

11) Well done. Make sure your windows are activated. Some installations disks ask for the key and others activates automatically as they are modified for that. Just make sure you select the right version of the windows shipped with your laptop or desktop. Look for the Microsoft sticker on the bottom or attached somewhere on your computer.

If any problem trying to initiate the installation, try to disable UEFI mode in the BIOS
