Within the Transform section of the Properties panel are the Flip Horizontally and Flip Vertically buttons. These can be used to flip a selected object(s) with a single click.

The Transform section also contains a small grid of nine squares which are used to set the Reference Point. This is the point about which transformations, including flips, occur. Clicking on any of the nine squares will make that point the Reference Point.

To flip an object, for example, about its right edge, set the Reference Point to any of the squares in the third column and then press the Flip Horizontally button.
