2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ Engine Noise - Flex plate? Piston Slap? Broken Piston Skirt?

Описание к видео 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ Engine Noise - Flex plate? Piston Slap? Broken Piston Skirt?

Any ideas of what this noise may be?

I only hear it coming from the bottom of the vehicle. As you can hear in the video, it's not all that loud coming from the top. The sound sounds like a metal-tapping-metal sound and it is coming from the area of the flex plate or the bottom of the oil pan. I checked all the torque-converter bolts and they were all snug, so I removed them, put locktite on them, and put them back in. Didn't fix the sound.

The sound isn't there when the engine is first turned on. It shows up after about a minute or two, or after the engine is revved up a few times. It doesn't go away after that. It doesn't really get any louder with increased RPMS, but it doesn't really get quieter either. It's harder to hear at higher RPMS but that could just be from more engine noise drowning it out or something.

Anyway, I would appreciate any help on this. I feel like it's the flex plate, from what I have read, but I'm not sure how to rule out piston slap, broken piston skirts, or piston slap. I could use your help!
