Vision Screenings are NOT Eye Exams🚫

Vision Screenings, such as those performed by school nurses or at pediatric visits, tend to focus on visual acuity, or "how well a child can see." Sometimes this involves using an "Auto Refractor" to give a general idea of whether a child may need a prescription for glasses. However, vision screenings can miss certain refractive conditions like farsightedness and astigmatism.

Eye exams go deeper than visual acuity. Comprehensive eye exams performed by eye doctors test for all refractive conditions, ocular motor functions, and binocular vision, and also include a full health check of the eyes.
