Interview with ALICE RENAVAND about LE PARC

Nommée danseuse Étoile à l’issue d’une représentation du Parc en 2013, où elle danse pour la première fois le rôle féminin principal, Alice Renavand raconte pour le magazine Octave sa rencontre avec Angelin Preljocaj à l’occasion de la reprise de ce ballet créé en 1994 pour l’Opéra de Paris. Fascinée par le langage du chorégraphe et sa manière d’utiliser des gestes très simples pour créer de puissantes émotions, elle explique son travail d’interprétation aux côtés du danseur Étoile Mathieu Ganio, et la façon dont elle a utilisé sa propre expérience amoureuse pour donner corps à la chorégraphie sensuelle de Preljocaj.

Appointed Dancer Étoile in 2013 after a performance of Le Parc, in which she danced the main female role for the first time, Alice Renavand tells Octave magazine about her encounter with Angelin Preljocaj when he revived his ballet created in 1994 for the Paris Opera. Fascinated by the choreographer's language and the way he uses very simple gestures to create powerful emotions, she explains her work of interpretation alongside Étoile dancer Mathieu Ganio, and how she used her own experience of love to give substance to Preljocaj's sensual choreography.
