Описание к видео F-Open Australia - V2 APS Bendigo Rifle Range - 1000 yards - Jacko Bending vs Jock Foster

I'm pleased to say Australia has taken notice of the F-class V2 series launched in the United States several years ago. This is the first of 3 regional matches where nominated competitors will have to a chance to compete and qualify for the V2 finale to be held at Malabar Rifle Range in Sydney, NSW in early 2025. This regional match was held at Bendigo Rifle Range in Victoria.

Competitors travelled near and far for this event which was an overwhelming success. We shot under ICFRA rules, so the usual X, 6, 5, 4 etc that we use in Australia was not used, and instead we shot V, 5, 4, 3, 2 as per international rules and the same format used at the F-class World Championships. Targets were marked manually with one target used being a Shot Marker. Competitors shoot Bisley style, meaning they score for one another and have a maximum of 45 seconds to make their wind calls and get their shots away. It's a true test of a shooters ability to read wind.

The video you are watching is between Jacko Bending (Victoria) and Jock Foster (NSW). Jacko has been in the sport for a long time and is one of the better F-Class Open shooters in Australia, he is also a very well accomplished Benchrest and Fly shooter so he knows how to get rounds downrange quickly.

Jock is from Armidale on the NSW northern tablelands and is a very good young up and coming F-Open shooter who recently travelled to New Zealand with the Australian team who dominated the NZ locals. Jock is also a member of the current NSW F-Open team along with myself.

This is stage 2 of a possible 3 stages in Match 1. Jock took out the first stage but at 1000 yards, conditions were very tricky with winds switching very frequently - not one shooter shot a clean score in Match 1 such were the conditions. We had many of the Australian F-Open team at this match, and these are the same guys who represented Australia at the Worlds last year in South Africa, finishing 3rd in the Teams event taken out by the USA.

Personally, I had a very good competition until I was brought undone in the quarter finals due to a trigger failure with two shots remaining. I was in the lead at that point and looking good for a spot in the semi-finals but alas fell just short as I had to swap rifles to my 6GT and with no optional sighters allowed, shot two 4's to close out my stage after I had just shot five V's in a row to build a handy lead.

This competition format was an awesome experience and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for the second match to be held at Belmont Rifle Range in Brisbane in June.

A shout out to the sponsors of this event including Nightforce, SEB Products and Australian distributor Jason Mayers, Dan Bramley and Erik Cortina for providing awesome prizes and additional sponsors including LRP Solutions, Accuracy Matters and TMG Stocks. Also massive thanks to the Victorian Rifle Association for the use of Bendigo Rifle Range.

And last but not least, a huge thank you to event organiser Albert Van Wyk. Albert is a current member of the Australian F-Open team and without his passion and drive to get this event off the ground, it never would have happened, so thanks Albert for being the legend that you are!

Enjoy and apologies for some of the background noise...it's always loud on the firing mound!
