This program is for beginners to experienced bird watchers. Learn why birds migrate and when to look for them. Spring migration is an exciting time for birders as many of our shorebirds, warblers and waterfowl get ready for their breeding season and now are heading north. Many of these birds fly from South and Central America to the northern parts of North America and the Artic to have their young. They are now passing through our state. New Jersey is situated on the Atlantic Flyway, where many of these birds come to feed after crossing the Delaware Bay. Learn about one of the greatest migrations of the world, here, right in New Jersey. The presenter, Susan Puder, has been a serious nature and wildlife photographer for over 30 years. She is a dedicated environmentalist who supports the preservation of open lands and wildlife. As an avid birder, she started the Southern Ocean Birding Group, located at the Tuckerton Seaport in Tuckerton, New Jersey, and is a member of the New Jersey Audubon Society. New Jersey Birds and Beyond is her first published book.
