Kit-Cat Club Band dir. by Al. Starita, Vocal Chorus: Al Starita – I Need Some Cooling Off, Fox Trot from: One Dam Thing After Another (Hart – Rodgers), Columbia 1927 (UK)

NOTE: Kit-Cat Club was one of the most snobbish night dance venues in the Roaring Twenties in London. Immortalized on pages of the English writers of the 20th century (e.g. Evelyn Waugh, John Betjeman) it captured the cream of London’s social sophistication and greed for entertainment and night reveling of the Roaring Twenties. All that wouldn’t have been possible without best dance orchestras, which played there, including Jack Hylton’s band and the fabulous bands formed by two brothers Starita (Ray and Al). They were originally from Boston, MA and traveled to London in the 1920s to play in famous Jack Hylton’s orchestra. After some time, each of them formed his own orchestra, both were equally popular in London in the 1920s: Al directed the Kit-Cat Band and the Piccadilly Players, while his brother Ray led the Piccadilly Revels Band. Most of posters included into the photoshow present the original interiors and real portraits of the guests of Kit-Cat Club in London in the 1920s.
