A lot of people have asked me what Mike was like to hang around with, and if he ever laughed or was always serious. He DEFINITELY laughed and was not serious all the time (in fact, he was seldom serious when hanging out with friends). Possessed of a very dry sense of humour and a razor-sharp wit, Mike was always fun to be with -- even in the gym. I'm reminded of Alan Watts' statement that "I'm sincere but never serious." Here's a short compilation of Mike being Mike when he was tasked with supervising Boyer Coe's workouts while the pair worked for Arthur Jones at Nautilus Sports/Medical Industries in Florida in 1983.
