KiCad 8: More powerful command line interface (CLI)

Описание к видео KiCad 8: More powerful command line interface (CLI)

In KiCad version 8, the command-line interface (CLI) has received various new features and capabilities. Now, DRC and ERC can be executed from the CLI, with the ability to generate reports in a machine-readable format (JSON), making integrating with CI (Continuous Integration) pipelines and other similar applications easier. Additionally, Bills of Material (BOMs) can now be exported directly from the CLI, saving time and streamlining the workflow.

Furthermore, the CLI now supports the export of glTF and VRML 3D models, providing more options for sharing and visualization. The order of layers in multi-layer board plots can be controlled, allowing for greater flexibility and customization.

Another useful addition is overriding the drawing sheet when plotting from the command line, giving users more control over their output.

Text variables can also be overridden in the command line, making it possible to customize the value of a text variable as part of a CI pipeline or similar process.

Lastly, existing options gained new control flags, and several bugs were fixed, improving the overall performance and usability of the CLI.
