In this video, I discuss the pros and cons of buying a house or duplex vs buying more Bitcoin, based on a listener question.

Bitcoin is a much higher risk, higher reward investment than buying a single family home in the US.

Bitcoin will probably outperform housing prices for a very long time, though there are scenarios where a levered bet on housing may outperform an unlevered bet on Bitcoin.

In the meantime, one needs to consider the pleasure that home ownership will give vs. the higher transaction costs and carrying costs of home ownership.

There is no "one size fits all" answer to this question, as everyone has different risk tolerance, income needs, retirement and lifestyle goals, etc.
