Ingredients:
1.5 cup fine chopped cabbage
1/2 cup fine chopped spring onion
1/2 cup grated carrot
1 tablespoon salt(to taste)
1 tablespoon ginger,garlic,green chili paste
1/2 cup cooked rice
oil to deep fry
2 tablespoon cornflour
2 tablespoon fine rava/Maida
1/2 tablespoon soya sauce
1 tablespoon red chili sauce
1/2 tablespoon garlic fine chopped.
1 sliced onion
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 tablespoon lemon juice /vinegar
Method:
take 1.5 cup cabbage into a bowl ,
add 1/2 cup chopped spring onion to it,
add 1/2 cup grated carrot ,add 1/2 spoon salt & 1 spoon ginger , garlic, green chili paste to it & mix well.
now add 1 spoon cornflour,& 2 spoon fine rava to mixture & mix it really well,try to mesh all ingredients with fingers , now add 1/2 cup cooked plain, hand mashed rice to it & mix it well until moisture of veggies get released. don't use any water to bind it.
now prepare firm manchurian balls by taking a portion of mixture & pressing it tightly in between fingers, manchurian should be really tight else it will be loosen while deep frying.
deep fry:
heat enough oil into a pan to deep fry manchurian balls, when oil is medium hot add balls to it with caution, turn it after 2 min , stove should be low while deep frying,it will take 4-5 min to deep fry one batch till golden brown.
Shallow fry:
using appe patra/ tava
put it on stove, heat it somewhat
this contains small grooves, put 2 drops of oil into each grove, add manchurian balls to it , now put 1-2 drops of oil on it & cover to cook, stove should be low.
check after 1 min, turn it ,put some drop of oil & cover again.
do this till it get nice golden color, it will take 6-7 min to finish one batch.
take out when done.
now take a pan or kadhai,
heat 3 spoon oil add chopped garlic to it , u can add chopped ginger if want. now add sliced onion ,let it be soft a bit,add 1/2 spoon soya sauce,1 spoon red chilli sauce ,cornflour paste to it & mix well , let it cook for 2-3 min.
now add manchurian balls, mix well till all balls get coated with gravy,
add 1/2 spoon salt,1/2 spoon red chili powder.
soya sauce & red chili sauce contains salt remember that while adding salt.
add 1/2 spoon sugar & 1/2 spoon lime juice or vinegar.
cook for 1-2 min .
veg manchurian is ready to serve ,garnish it with some chopped spring onion.
