Original Description
The March of Oriamendi or simply Oriamendi is the hymn of carlism. Its name comes from the one of a battle that took place in the mountain with the same name, located in the vicinity of San Sebastián, in 1837, during First Carlist War in which the Carlist army defeated the Cristino.
According to the legend, after the defeat of the liberal troops, the Carlist entered the Christian camp, taking as booty: weapons, uniforms and, also, the score of a military march composed by an English musician and arranged by a liberal Donostiarran. That march later became this song.

During the Spanish civil war the Basque Carlists fought on the national side of the war, in order to fight communism; the destroyer of values, religion and family.
