I recently interviewed Craig Rhyne from Washington Gold Exchange while I was driving around the state recently. He is a subject matter expert about the small businesses who sell coins, gold and silver in Washington State. He was part of the original group of WA citizens who lobbied Olympia successfully in 1985 to stop imposing sales tax on coins (money) in Washington State.

In the recent blizzard of weirdness and panic in Olympia - the legislature is flailing to find any tax excuse they can use to keep from cutting the bloat in government. Often, these proposals are certain to not just obtain the cash they claim to get trying to extract, but they will also hurt the local economy and local businesses.
