Check out this quick test confirming a failing cp3 injection pump. This test is valid only after other important variables have been verified as acceptable. Values such as; injector balance rates, low pressure delivery (supply) and fuel pressure regulator duty cycle need to be confirmed before proceeding. This particular example had regulator duty cycle values dropping below 10% on half throttle pulls. Normal values rarely exceed (below) 30% for a cp3 in good operating condition. (Regulator works in reverse with respect to duty cycle values. 100% is completely closed). Secondly, low pressure delivery side values should not be less than 8-10psi under hard pulls and 12 psi @ idle(w a lift pump). Thanks for watching. Enjoy!
