Sri Lankan President Anura Dissanayake to visit India from December 15-17 | DD India

Sri Lankan President Anura Dissanayake will embark on his first state visit to India from December 15-17, focusing on bolstering bilateral ties, economic cooperation, and regional stability. The visit comes amid Sri Lanka's ongoing recovery from a severe economic crisis, during which India extended $4.5 billion in humanitarian aid and supported its IMF bailout efforts. Dissanayake is expected to discuss energy security, regional maritime safety, and investment opportunities with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu. The visit also aims to deepen cooperation under the Indian Ocean Rim Association, where Sri Lanka currently holds the chair and India the vice-chair.
