I´m building a soundproof enclosure for a good but noisy shop vac, including a soundproofed ventilation. The concepts of isolating and dampening noise may be applied to other use cases too, e. g. compressors, generators, computers, even drums and musical instruments, if you build the enclosure bigger (and add a door and a window).
