Want to learn how to play high on trombone? Want to improve your high register playing? Watch and play-along with this video that uses the melody from Over the Rainbow from the Wizard of Oz. This video can be used for all brass players, not just trombones! Trumpets, Tubas, Horns and Euphoniums (I'm looking at you)!

One of my favorite ways I work on my high register is by playing a melody and taking it up, one half step at a time. Over the Rainbow is one of my favorite songs ever, so it was an easy choice. I play this melody all the time! The octave leap at the beginning provides a nice challenge while working on extending your range.

In this video, I explain how to approach this exercise and some tips. The video includes a backing track and the sheet music down below!
