Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on itch.io.

The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?

Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign.

"X", better known as Sonic.EXE, is an evil energy-based entity that was accidentally created in the void during a cataclysm involving multiple forms of primordial energy, who subsequently became interested in Sonic and molded his appearance to resemble him.

He is the antagonist of the indie game duology that bears his name where he murders Sonic's friends and kidnaps their souls. In 2021, Sonic.EXE has had a resurgence thanks to Friday Night Funkin' in multiple mods.

Horizon's Edge is a mod created by XenoTD and directed by JasperCat. The mod itself was based on a concept of Chaotix's My Horizon neutral/bad ending song for ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION, however, it became its own standalone thing after the cancellation of ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION created by Averyavery last year. It revolves around the character Wechidna (created by Rightburst_Ultra) as the main characters alongside with few others down below. Wechidna was originally gonna appear in Vs. Sonic.EXE, Parallax, and ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION but due to all of two mods getting cancelled (ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION was brought back into development again), Wechidna and a few other Parallax characters (including Satanos) were meant to be in this mod but most of these characters weren't confirmed yet (especially Satanos). But then later all of the Parallax characters ending up getting scrapped including Wechidna because Rightburst_Ultra wanted his characters in Rerun except any other mod. Hog ended up getting scrapped because Jack Gore (Creator of Hog & Scorched) didn't like Avery for reasons unknown. (this wiki description is outdated but idrc)
