Описание к видео Singer Tells The Story of 1987's New Wave Power Ballad That’s Even Bigger Today | Professor of Rock

This pseudo New Wave Rock power ballad seemed to come out of nowhere in 1987. Armed with an emotional lead vocal, the song is so haunting it’s almost supernatural, which drove it to #1 all over the world. The story is told by it’s singer and songwriter including an acoustic performance, this is a can’t miss next on professor of rock.

1987 was grand year for music with Def Leppard Whitesnake and Guns N Rose releasing landmark albums on the harder side of Rock, George Michael, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson dominated the charts with their latest releases, with blockbuster albums filled with hit singles . U2 and REM were taking College rock to the masses with the Joshua Tree and Document, it was an amazing time to be young and embracing all of this music as the soundtracks of our lives. IN the middle of all of this a band that formed in London in 1985 named Cutting Crew released a single that haunted listeners and leap frogged over all of the previous acts I mentioned to hit Number one on the billboard hot 100.

I Just Died In Your Arms tonight was a game changer for sure, it also flew to #1 in Canada, Norway, and Finland, and reached the top five in the UK, South Africa, Sweden, and Switzerland and it’s still attracting new listeners, as one of the go to songs for other cultural mediums when trying to create that perfect aura and feeling of the 80s. It was used in Season 3 of Stranger Things, in an iconic moment in that episode and it was used in the Lego Batman movie. It’s just a potently nostalgic song that puts you in a trance. And it’s one of those song that’s a mystery, many wanted to know what the lyrics meant? Well I was fortunate to spend some time with Cutting Crew lead singer and songwriter Nick Van Edde who not only gives us insight into the mystery but also shares how he created, with his acoustic guitar, he gives an exclusive breakdown performance.

This one’s awesome. as we go into this interview I want to thank our sponsor Zenni Eyewear, the frames I swear by. I just go this new pair and they send you so many extras, I designed these at Zenni.com, adds sunglasses and Blokz to protect my eyes from digital blue light as well, as anti go and anti glare, and with their mirror feature I got to see how I looked before I bought, Treat yourself. design your own pair at Zenni.com for less than the price of a vinyl record. Here’s the story of I Just Died In Your Arms.

Very recentlythe song was rerecorded and reissued as an orchestral incarnation as well as in several other versions as the lead single for the second Cutting Crew Compilation album , "Ransomed Healed Restored Forgiven,” with a new music video that we’ll link to. the new release for the hit has been through an 8-track EP, Isn’t it just breathtaking?
