"Sandakphu" and "Phalut" is more of walking through a dream land, rather than walking in the mountains. The Land of Sleeping Buddha, which enriches the mind of the traveler with serenity,love,romance and joy of being in laps of nature, makes a traveler feel the necessity to visit the mountains(Himalayas) once in a life.
Sandakphu lying at 3636mtrs(12000ft) is the highest point of West Bengal in Darjeeling district which shares the border with Nepal. The Land which provides the wide view of the four of the Highest peaks of the world, KhanchenDzonga on the Left side and Mt. Everest,Mt. Makalu,Mt. Lhotse on the right side.
The small rural hamlets of Singalila forest in Darjeeling district not only pulls the tourist for the attraction of Sandakphu,Phalut, but also the amazingly beautifully decorated villages with warm smiling villagers makes a special place in the heart of the traveler.
The trail sandwiched between India and Nepal shows the Unity and friendship between the two countries united by the mountains. Trekking through the trails of Sandakphu and Phalut is also walking through the trails of Nepal.
