[1:14] The cost of the dyes
[2:11] What are my crude swatches?
[3:11] Presoaking the yarn
Presoak 500 g stroll fingering weight yarn in plain tap water
[3:47] Swatching the colors
3T white vinegar in 8 cups of water - add enough to just barely cover the 100 g of yarn. (~4 cups of the mixture)
Heat up the pan, and take a little dye powder from each color and add it to the yarn
Rhodamine Red, Poppy Red, Watermelon, Deep Orchid, Saffron, Sun yellow, Sea Breeze, Brilliant Blue, cornflower blue, Lilac, Violet, Brown, and Black.
[13:03] All the colors I have
Wait 5 min, add some water over everything, heat for 30+ min. Remove the yarn to cool to wash.
[19:51] Dissolving dyes for dip dyeing
Measure out 1 g of Violet and Lilac and dissolved in hot tap water
[20:27] Dip dyeing yarn into two colors
The dyebath: 24 cups of water + 6 T white vinegar
+ 1 gram Violet Dye (it foamed?!?!?)
Dip dye 200 g of yarn
wait 15 min before removing the yarn, rearranging to dip dye the other side
[30:32] Dyeing speckled yarn
Black, Deep Orchid, & cornflower blue
8 cups of water + 3 T white vinegar, add enough to cover the yarn (~5 cups of the mixture)
[44:01] Washing the swatched yarn
[47:47] Washing the rest of the yarn
[49:58] The finished dry yarn and conclusions
