The Darkling meets a girl who has great potential in dark magic - Morgana Pendragon. She(as in the canon) didn't know about her real identity and was afraid of magic. Darkling saw her as his soulmate and wanted to let her open up in order to capture the world together in the future. But she learned the truth about The Fold(which is not so important in this story) and Alexander's real dark plans for her.
Her heart was broken and she realized that she should never believe his words. Soon their conflict turned into enmity and battle. All the time the Darkling was tossing between his thirst for power and his love for Morgana. Morgana, in turn, became stronger and stronger, unconsciously becoming dark and vindictive herself.
They still had feelings for each other, besides hatred, but there was no turning back. Darkling and Morgana understood that someone had to win, no one would give in. They ran for a long time after each other and from each other.
In the last battle, Morgana found a way to kill the Darkling. Causing excruciating pain to the darkling turned out to be unbearable for her and Morgana hesitated at the last moment,but did it.

Some time passed and it turned out that their story was not over yet.
