Today's road trip was our shortest so far, in regard to the distance (approximately 45 kilometres). Yet it was one to remember, because of the beauty of the locations we visited.

The weather was super crazy today. In the beginning, it was a bit cold, even with jackets on. Then, as soon as the rays of the sun escaped the clouds, it became hot, perhaps too hot, given the fact that we've been carrying our equipment while walking along nature trails. About halfway through, the white and greyish clouds became black and there was rain. Thankfully the rain stopped after about ten minutes and we were able to push through.

45 kilometres were enough to make us (and perhaps you) realize how diverse our little island is. We saw dams - nature reserves and we walked nature trails by the water. There were yellow, red, and pink flowers and weeds, that are only seen during spring. We visited ancient ruins and hiked the hills to reach the acropolis. This allowed us to enjoy a magnificent view of the "bay of the cruise ships" and the never-ending blue hue of the sea. All of this with much-needed coffee in hand and a variety of traditional pastries, enjoying a picnic with a view to die for.

In only 45 kilometres we (re)discovered so much. Imagine how many hidden gems you can explore by driving along the southern coastline, the countryside, and the mountain regions.
