In a surreal fantasy, reimagining the inner workings of a fruit bowl, Oscar-winning set designer and creative Shona Heath throws chaos and decay into her extraordinary world for short film The Still Life of a Peach – accompanying a two-part editorial, shot by Tim Gutt for Luncheon Magazine.

Envisaged through eccentric sets and costume design, the fruits descend from their short lived prime, to be consumed or left to rot – their forms molded from reindeer moss, children’s powder paint and wadding in Heath’s East London studio. Inspired by the fresh fruit bowl as a triumphant middle class display piece, and the beauty and sadness of watching fruit rot, the fruit’s nature dictated their materiality – the apple in blood red lycra, taught and gathered, the grapes’ skins slightly loose and dusty, with enormous toes, crushing themselves to wine.…read more at nowness.com
