Greetings to you all my friends- how do you do?
Yesterday, I was conducting a standardisation line check on a very senior base training and check Captain. A standardisation check is to ensure our instructors and check captains are also maintaining the required operational standards in the way they operate and also assess and pass on training procedures to other pilots. On each fleet, we have a core of senior examiners/trainers that are in the flight standards team and we check other training captains when they need an annual line check. On this occasion Captain Paul was also checking the First Officer while I checked the two of them. All in the business. A special mention to some of our Cathay Pacific cadets as shown in the video. They are on course CPA 2 at the Cathay Academy in Hong Kong.
