The Twin Cam 88 Can Hold Some Secrets

Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 88, great engine, has it's issues but they can hold some secrets. You truly don't know what you have in a Twin Cam 88 until you open the cam chest. There are many variables you can run into like hydraulic tensioner conversion with stock style plate. Maybe a conversion with a late model bushing design cam plate with conversion cams. You could even find a billet cam plate with roller bearings and hydraulic tensioners. There are several possible combinations and just because the bike has receipts for work doesn't mean those parts are still in the bike. Twin Cam 88's change hands over the years and receipts still follow the bike, doesn't mean someone didn't rob the goodies out of the engine.
