Global Polio Eradication Initiative - Strategy Launch Event

Delivering on the Promise of a Polio-free World: Launch of the new Polio Eradication Strategic Plan 2022-2026, on 10 June 2021. The new Strategic Plan has been developed in close consultation across the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) stakeholdership, and lays out the roadmap to securing a lasting world, free of all polioviruses, where no child will ever again be paralysed. Key to success will be the ongoing commitment of all partners around the world, to ensure the Strategic Plan can be fully implemented. The event on 10 June brought together senior leadership of the Governments of Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as core partners of the GPEI – Rotary International, UNICEF, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance - to launch the final push to ‘Delivering on the Promise of a Polio-free World’.
