About a week ago I tried starting this tractor and the starter didn't do anything. I tried all the "usual suspects" first ("brightened" all electrical connections from the battery to the starter motor) and then ran a jumper cable directly from the batterh to the starter. I got sparks but nothing else happened. I removed the starter from the tractor and put in new brushes and cleaned the commutator. This is the first start of that tractor [Allis-Chalmers Model G (G29253) ] after replacing the brushes in the starter motor. This was the first start of the tractor in about 9 months.
