It brings me great joy to present this short film documentary The Sole Project 2012. Thanks to Sarah Longbottom, the greatest Creative Director ever who founded Nga Rangatahi Toa Creative Arts Initiative, who started The Sole Project (pronounced: 'so-le') as an alternative education programme created specifically to help rangatahi who for whatever reason were rejected by mainstream education and given a chance to get one on one mentoring for one week with a creative mentor. After one week of working within the creative arts they produce a piece each to exhibit in a gallery-setting.

From this, they are exposed to the various industries whether it be painting, street art, music, sculpture, creative writing or performing arts. This project is to help bridge the gap between mainstream education and alternative education. This allows a chance for the rangatahi to get a chance at a better, more brighter future.
