Mine Emergency Evacuation

Joe DeSalvo narrates a Penn State produced video entitled: "Mine Emergency Escape." Filmed in an actual underground mine, DeSalvo provides real, practical advice for escaping an underground coal mine emergency. Actual miners demonstrate many of the principles described.

Doctor Mark Radomsky and Doctor Larry Grayson review and discuss the miners filmed simulating a mine evacuation. They discuss the importance of proper and accurate communication, leadership and decision-making, the need to know the mine evacuation procedures, the importance of realistic training. Grayson details the proper steps necessary for miners to safely evacuate a mine in an emergency.
