How Baseball Connects Dallas & Fort Worth

Описание к видео How Baseball Connects Dallas & Fort Worth

Dallas and Fort Worth, both had baseball teams. The Fort Worth Cats and the Dallas Eagles. On and off the field, Dallas and Fort Worth were intense rivals.

But in 1965, the two cities came together like never before to play baseball – in Arlington. The Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs were born. The Spurs broke minor league attendance records, proof for Arlington Mayor Tom Vandergriff that his city and the region could support a Major League team.

On April 21, 1972, the mayor’s dream became a reality when the Texas Rangers took the field.

Join us for our on-field debut of the Nike City Connect jerseys on April 21, when we host the A's. Tickets at Rangers.com.
