"Why am I not enlightened ?"

A group of three was visiting Maharaj for the first time. They decided on asking only one question: "Maharaj, all three of us have done certain Sadhana ( Practice) for some time, but the progress
does not seem to be adequate. What should we do?"
Maharaj said that the purpose of any effort is to get some thing, some benefit which one does not possess. What is it that you are trying to achieve?
