Monumental: The Making of a Graphic History

Описание к видео Monumental: The Making of a Graphic History

The Historic New Orleans Collection's Nick Weldon explains how he, author Brian K. Mitchell, and illustrator Barrington S. Edwards brought Oscar J. Dunn's story to life. Dunn was elected lieutenant governor of Louisiana in 1868, and was the first Black man to hold that office in American history. He died suddenly while in office in 1871. His whole story is told, for the first time, in THNOC's new book "Monumental: Oscar Dunn and His Radical Fight in Reconstruction Louisiana." For more on the book, visit www.hnoc.org/monumental.
