This session offers a technical deep dive into strategies for transforming legacy healthcare data into the FHIR standard. We’ll explore various methodologies, including SDA-based mappings, Object Model transformations, Dynamic Objects, and FHIR Transformation Services (FTS) with pre- and post-processing logic. We’ll also introduce an emerging application partner solution—Outburn’s Fume and the Fume plugin. Following the transformation discussion, we’ll examine common architectural decisions and challenges, such as supporting read-only versus read/write FHIR interactions and choosing between Repository, Façade, or Hybrid deployment models. Ideal for architects, developers, and integration specialists, this session will help guide your end-to-end FHIR enablement journey.
