CONFIGURATION HSRP

Описание к видео CONFIGURATION HSRP

HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol) is a Cisco proprietary redundancy protocol that provides high availability by allowing two or more routers to work together in a group. One router will be active and the others will be on standby, ready to take over if the active router fails.
In HSRP configuration, you need to specify several parameters including:
Group number: Identifies which virtual MAC address should be used for this HSRP group.
IP addresses: The primary and secondary IP addresses associated with the virtual interface.
Priority: Determines which router becomes the active one when all other factors are equal.
Preemption: Whether an inactive higher priority device can preempt an already-active lower-priority device upon recovery from failure.
