Welcome to Mitamo Journeys!
In this episode, we explore the beautiful Bebek and Arnavutköy districts of Istanbul, starting with a scenic ferry ride from Ortaköy. Our journey showcases the stunning seaside views along the Bosphorus, the picturesque Bebek Park, and local cafes and restaurants that give these neighborhoods their unique charm.

During our walk, we pass by iconic landmarks such as the historic Rumeli Fortress (Rumeli Hisarı) and continue along the shoreline, taking in views of both the Bosphorus Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
Our journey ends near the second bridge, known for connecting Europe and Asia.

About Bebek:
Bebek is one of Istanbul's most upscale and vibrant neighborhoods, located along the European shore of the Bosphorus. Known for its luxury residences, lively atmosphere, and breathtaking waterfront views, Bebek is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The area's famous park and seaside promenade offer a perfect setting for a relaxing stroll or a cup of coffee with a view.

About Arnavutköy:
Arnavutköy, located just past Bebek, is known for its historic wooden Ottoman houses, narrow streets, and a lively culinary scene. With its charming blend of old and new, Arnavutköy offers a glimpse into the city's rich history while providing modern cafes, seafood restaurants, and cultural landmarks.

Rumeli Hisarı:
The Rumeli Fortress, also known as Rumeli Hisarı, was built by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1452, just before the conquest of Constantinople. This massive fortress was strategically located on the narrowest point of the Bosphorus, directly across from Anadolu Hisarı on the Asian side. The fortress played a crucial role in controlling naval traffic during the Ottoman siege of the city.

The Bosphorus Bridges:
1. Bosphorus Bridge (15 July Martyrs Bridge) – Connecting Europe and Asia, this iconic suspension bridge is one of Istanbul's most recognizable landmarks. It was the first bridge to cross the Bosphorus and has become a symbol of unity between the two continents.

2. Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (Second Bosphorus Bridge) – Opened in 1988, this bridge was named after Sultan Mehmed II, the conqueror of Constantinople. It connects Rumeli Hisarı with Anadolu Hisarı, playing a key role in modern traffic between Europe and Asia.
