Sowing time of early cotton in Punjab Pakistan
From a few years early or spring cultivation of cotton crop in Punjab Pakistan is found to be profitable due to high market price and significant yield as compared to seasonal cotton being sown after wheat or canola harvesting. But it should be kept in mind that for early sowing of cotton only Triple Gene Varieties having resistance against the attack of Pink Bollworm should be selected.
As for as sowing time is concerned in major cotton growing areas of Punjab it's cultivation must be started after 15th of February but should be completed before 31st of March 2024. Preferably sowing should be completed before 10th March especially in south Punjab districts like Rahim Yard Khan, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, DG Khan, Muzaffar Garh and Multan.
