One of the most overlooked skills in leadership and in business is influencing others to do what it is you need and want them to do for the betterment of you, the company, and themselves. Influence comes from the Latin "influere," meaning to flow into. Influence is the ability of a person or leader to affect, to shape, or to transform the opinions and the behaviors or actions of other people. Without influencing others, a leader cannot make his or her vision take place. My advice to you is to study the idea of how to effectively influence other people, how to effectively persuade people to make a decision to change their lives. The position of a leader in an organization and the power it gives are not enough to motivate or inspire people. If you can’t influence others to take action you’ll never lead a winning organization regardless of the profession or industry.

Leadership is influence - nothing more and nothing less. The best leaders are able to emotionally convict others to run through brick walls and burning buildings when chasing after their dreams and goals.
If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.
Once you learn how to influence others, you start multiplying your efforts instead of adding.
