"Northward, up North" - Greek patriotic song about Macedonia

A Greek-Macedonian (marching) song about the Bulgarian (Axis) occupation of parts of Greek Macedonia. Composed by Kostas (Constantine) Kapnisis & translated by me.

κρύφτηκε ο ήλιος στην συννεφιά
παντού απλώθηκε σκοτεινιά.
Μάνες δακρύσαν,
τα χέρια σφίξαν
κι όλα προσμένουν την ξαστεριά...

Στον Βοριά, στον Βοριά,
κάτ' απ' την στάχτη καίει η φωτιά.
Ξανά οι γενναίοι εκεί ψηλά,
να πολεμήσουν
και να νικήσουν
πίσω να φέρουν την λευτεριά!

πάρτε τα όπλα με μια καρδιά ,
δεν θα΄ναι πάντα η ερημιά.
Στη μάχη πάλι,
