This isn’t a tutorial and it isn’t a guide. I’m not explaining how to get licensed or what radio to buy. I’m talking through patterns I’ve seen over time and the tradeoffs people make when they want communication without putting in the time to learn how it works.

Ham radio comes up naturally in that conversation because it sits at the point where participation and patience start to matter more than convenience.
