Natural movement … how efficient & beautiful

This 14 months old kid spends lots of his active hours during the day playing and exploring the world that he lives in. A world in which gravity determines his carefully taken steps to sit, stand and walk and run in the most smart way. His muscles (still weak) need to develop strength to deal with the force of gravity most efficiently and this makes him a superb efficient mover. As you can see he naturally makes sure his Center of Mass (bodymass interacting with gravitational force) is set in the best position to deal with the external force of gravity most easy. While sitting, standing, walking and running his COM is perfectly balanced over support (butt, feet etc.). Thus creating the least amount of leverage, avoiding braking movement and therefore moving in a very healthy way. This is in fact how we all started moving when we where young! When we grow older however we lose this great capacity. Sitting in chairs most hours of the day, running in cushioned shoes, our bad perception of how to move well etc.added to that sad fact. That is (I believe) the main reason why we move clumsy nowadays. The reason why we lose flexibility and feel stiff and run into injuries everywhere in our bodies during daily live activity's. To re-build the bodies capacity to interact in our natural environment in a good manner, we should start moving again. If you feel un-certain how and where to start (I presume lots of people out here and I'm no exception to that), find a good teacher to learn how to do such!! I personally really like the concepts of movement of Nicholas Romanov (inventor of Posemethod of running), the teaching skills of Ido Portal (   • The Cruel Tutelage of Ido Portal  ) and the philosophy on flexibility of Kelly Starrett (CrossFit coach and physio).
