Ripple Dissolve (no plug-in) ; After Effects

Hey guys!
This is my first tutorial so it's obviously a bit rough.
BCC Ripple Dissolve is an extremely popular effect being used right now and as someone who doesn't use plug-ins I was struggling to find a tutorial on how to achieve the BCC Ripple Dissolve without actually needing the plug-in.

Well I couldn't find one so instead I attempted to make it in After Effects myself.
I did have to play around with a lot of the settings and it's still not perfect but if you're not satisfied with the results you can always go ahead and change some of the settings until you are, for example increase the ripple effect more or increase the brightness of the overlay etc.
You can also try to add other effects like transform or turbulence.

Either way hope this helps anyone who wants to give off the ripple dissolve effect.
