Media forum held in Iligan city with topic discussions on Diyandi festival 2024

ILIGAN CITY - Diyandi festival is a month-long festivities to coincide with the Iligan Fiesta celebration of the Patron "Saint Michael the Archangel". This was one of the topics discussed during the media forum held 13 August 2024, with speakers from the city Fiesta tourism committee, represented by Ms. Hanna Padilla, overall vice chairman of the tourism comittee, and Mr. Jhay Dagting of the Gender and Development (GAD) office.

Per information shared by the tourism and fiesta committee, the budget for this year's Diyandi festival is amounted to Php 11.3 Million which is lower than the previous year's festivities budget. That's why, activities are also lowered to at least 60 percent. However, there will be request for supplemental budget ranging from 5 million to 8 million pesos to be added for this year's budget.

One of the activities to be highlighted is the dragon boat competition. The street dancing competition will also be the main attraction for a long period of time. All the major activities will be an open categories to all participants to boost tourism attraction for economic development in the city with the assurance of peace and order, and security during the celebrations.
