Animating SCALE in After Effects

You've got your assets ready, perhaps you've created a shape or a text object and now you're ready to apply some transform animations to it. Well, in this video, we're going to be taking a look at how you can animate the scale property of your layer in both the x and y-axis!

✅ VIDEO SUMMARY
To animate the scale of your layer, simply make sure you have the correct layer selected, then press the letter "S" on your keyboard (both for Windows and Mac). Next press on the small stopwatch and create an initial keyframe. Then reposition your Current Time Indicator and create a new keyframe with a new scale value. There are two values that you can change in 2D mode; the scale in the x-axis and the scale in the y-axis. If the small "Link" icon is ticked, it will change both at once. If you unlink these two values you can adjust them separately. Finally, all you have to do is press Space-bar to preview your new animation!

It is important to note that your scale is going to originate from the center of your Anchor Point. To change the position of the Anchor Point, use the Pan Behind Tool.
