People's Bank of China holds press conference detailing 2018 priorities

China's central bank, the People's Bank of China (PBOC), held a news conference detailing the country's financial reform and development on Friday. PBOC Governor Zhou Xiaochuan said China's financial sector will be more open to other countries. He also said China has made steady progress in opening up, since its entry to the World Trade Organization in 2001. Zhou said China is now ready to speed up the process, after it was hindered by the global financial crisis in 2008. In terms of foreign investment, PBOC Deputy Governor Yi Gang said China has taken measures to make sure foreign financial companies are equally treated, but that does not mean there won't be any regulation.
