Sydney CPPC Seminar 4th July 2024

Of the unknown parameters of neutrino mixing and oscillation, the leptonic Dirac CP phase is of ultimate importance for understanding the baryon asymmetry in our Universe. Especially, the preliminary results from T2K and NOvA showed strong indication of maximal leptonic CP violation. This field is at the dawn of a new era. It is time to think from the theory side about going beyond to achieve more precise knowledge of the CP phase and probing possible new physics. For the precision measurement, those intrinsic problems (efficiency, degeneracy, and large uncertainty) of the accelerator experiments can be overcome by the low energy neutrinos from muon decay at rest. The precision can then significantly improve to the degree level. In addition, multiple new physics can fake the leptonic CP violation. I will talk about several examples, including the non-standard interactions (NSI) that generates matter potential, the non-unitary mixing (NUM) that enlarges the mixing matrix, the scalar NSI and dark NSI that can induce environmental neutrino masses, as well as the renormalization group running effects.
