Watch Me Dismantle A Commercial Dishwasher!

Описание к видео Watch Me Dismantle A Commercial Dishwasher!

We are done the job we were on, but it's a heat wave so I haven't been outside a lot. I am trying to get some dish washers that have been laying around the yard done and this one is the Fagor FI-48W commercial dishwasher (sanitizer). I was hoping for more(some) copper tubing from a $5000 dishwasher, so this was really a disappointing scrap for the original cost of this thing. Oh well, I know I didn't pay for it, so whatever.

I decided to spend a bit more time scrapping this so I could show you how much is in this thing. I could have scrapped the whole thing in half an hour if I hadn't been messing around filming, etc.

There was also about a pound of cast aluminum that I forgot to put in there. All in all, it was #2 copper, clean brass and insulated copper wire for the majority of the bounty. Still less than $15 worth of scrap metal, unless you could sell the parts or get stainless price.

Commercial dishwashers are essential equipment in restaurants, hotels, catering businesses, and other foodservice establishments where large quantities of dishes need to be cleaned efficiently. Recycling commercial dishwashers involves several key steps:

Collection: When a commercial dishwasher reaches the end of its lifecycle or is being replaced, it needs to be collected for recycling. This can be done through equipment suppliers, recycling companies, or sometimes through the manufacturer's recycling programs.

Transportation: Once collected, the dishwasher is transported to a recycling facility. This might involve dismantling the dishwasher into smaller parts for easier transportation, especially if it's a large unit.

Dismantling: At the recycling facility, the dishwasher is dismantled carefully. Components such as the stainless steel body, heating elements, pumps, motors, hoses, and electronic components are separated. Each type of material is processed separately for recycling.

Material Recovery: The separated components are processed to recover valuable materials. Stainless steel parts, for instance, can be melted down and reused to manufacture new products. Metals like copper and aluminum from wiring and electronic components are also recovered.

Hazardous Waste Handling: Commercial dishwashers may contain hazardous materials such as chemicals used for cleaning and maintenance. These substances need to be carefully managed and disposed of according to environmental regulations to prevent contamination.

Environmental Considerations: Recycling commercial dishwashers helps reduce the environmental impact associated with disposal in landfills. It conserves resources by recovering valuable materials and reduces the energy required for manufacturing new products from raw materials.

Regulations and Standards: Recycling processes for commercial dishwashers must comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding waste management and environmental protection. This ensures that recycling practices are safe and environmentally responsible.

Overall, recycling commercial dishwashers is an important aspect of sustainable business practices in the foodservice industry, helping to conserve resources and minimize waste.
