The Hague Convention of 25 October 1980 on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction is a multilateral treaty that establishes proceedings for the prompt return of children who have been wrongfully removed or kept away from their home country. The panelists will discuss how to seek return of a child under the Convention and what the defenses to a return are. Should the case be handled in the state or federal courts? How does the UCCJEA intersect with the law under the Convention?
