What is a Uropygial Gland?

Описание к видео What is a Uropygial Gland?

During preening, birds gather oily secretions that contain waxes and fats from their oil glands. This gland is located near the base of (just above) the tail.
Birds distribute the oil over the plumage to keep their feathers in good condition.
Its important to know what your species of birds preen gland is suppose to look like so that you can take your bird to an avian vet if you suspect there is an issue with the preen gland.
